Three Decades of Music & Teaching

Based in Ottawa, Canada, Dan Tremblay has become known as much for his blend of ambient and electronic music as for his music instruction. Having gotten an early start under the careful guidance of his mother, he has since shared his several decades of musical knowledge with hundreds of students. On 8 occasions, his students have received provincial awards for the highest mark in their respective grade in piano performance. His teaching has since expanded to online course offerings covering topics including piano improvisation and cinematic music production.

Pivoting to online performance on Twitch in 2021 led to numerous production and mixing opportunities for international artists. This time also sparked a flurry of cinematic album releases under his own name, as well as several collaborations, including a song to be featured in an upcoming VR game.

His instrumental compositions ranging from delicate and sparse piano, to epic and cinematic have been licensed worldwide.

Recently, his YouTube channel has garnered attention from both composers and audio developers alike. This resulted in production work for New Zealand born composer, Christopher Norton, as well as content creation and commissioned work for Smokestack Sounds (helmed by former Spitfire Audio lead composer Oliver Patrice Weder), Frozen Plain and Emergence Audio. He regularly reviews products for Fracture Sounds, Soundiron, Westwood Instruments, Sonixinema, Slate & Ash, Field Tone Audio and Fifine Technologies.

Hear From Dan's Students

"

I've been with him since the very beginning during my days as a student with Music for Young Children and have never wanted to switch instructors once, even now with Mr. Dan helping me complete grade 8 piano for Conservatory Canada. I could go on and on about why Mr. Dan is the absolute best, but here's a quick summary on why Dan's the man when it comes to piano. Every lesson he makes me smile or laugh with something he's said at some point. He's non judgmental and encouraging during practice sessions, and is always giving great constructive criticism that I can apply through the week before coming back the next week. Aside from the recitals he hosts where his students play every year, Mr. Dan is an excellent performer himself and is very talented at more than just the piano. I highly recommend checking him out!
